Welcome to Sip, an all-day coffee, wine and cocktail bar inspired by the relaxed rhythm of Italian living.

From your first coffee of the morning to your final glass in the evening, Sip is a place to slow down, catch up and savour the simple pleasures. Whether you're stopping by for an espresso and pastry, sharing a grazing board over wine, or browsing our shelves of carefully selected Italian produce, we hope every visit feels welcoming and unhurried.

Meet Andy

Sip is the vision of Andy, who grew up in Tuscany, where good coffee, great food and genuine hospitality are woven into everyday life. Inspired by Italy's café culture and its tradition of bringing people together around the table, he dreamed of creating a place that captures that same warmth and sense of community.

After moving to the UK to work in hospitality, Andy met his wife, Elise, who grew up in Ashbourne. Through countless visits, he fell in love with the town and saw the opportunity to bring a little taste of Italy to the Derbyshire Dales.

Wine has always been one of Andy's passions, and he holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. Every bottle on our shelves and wine list has been personally selected, alongside authentic Italian produce, to reflect the quality, character and hospitality at the heart of Sip.

His aim is simple: to create a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you're popping in for ten minutes or staying a little longer.

And if you're lucky, you might also meet Toby, the friendly Springador, who's never far away from the action.

Our Philosophy

We believe the best moments are often the simplest: taking time to pause, sharing good conversation, discovering something new, and enjoying life's everyday rituals.

That's why we've created more than a café or a wine bar. Sip is a place to gather, celebrate, unwind and feel at home - whether you're meeting friends, discovering a new favourite bottle, or simply taking a moment for yourself.

From first pour to last light, everyone is welcome.
